Kathleen Butterfield is a partner in the Financial Services Group and Co-Leader of the China Group. Kathleen works with banks, insurance companies, trust and loan companies, and other regulated and unregulated financial services providers on various commercial, transactional and regulatory matters. In particular, Kathleen has expertise in federal financial institutions legislation and provincial consumer protection and cost of borrowing legislation. She advises clients on credit card issuance, co-brand credit card programs, private label credit card programs and loyalty programs. She also assists with retail banking products and services such as deposit products, payment products and payment systems.
As an experienced corporate commercial lawyer, Kathleen has also acted on many significant and complex commercial arrangements and M&A transactions. She is a strong advocate for her clients.
