Fasken Martineau and McGill University's Institute for the Study of International Development (ISID), announced a new partnership in the development and delivery of ISID’s Executive Education Certificate Program.
The program will focus on Corporate Social Responsibility and the first session will be held at McGill University's Montreal campus in November 2012. With the working title "CSR: Creating Value through Collaborative Sustainable Development", the program will bring together private and public participants in a five (5)-day course. This certificate course will serve as the first of a number of future sessions to be developed.
"ISID is pleased to announce this new program delivered through this unique partnership with Fasken Martineau," said Phil Oxhorn, founding Director of the Institute for the Study of International Development. "We welcome this active collaboration and are confident it will have important benefits for both organizations as well as offering business representatives, NGO's and public officials practical solutions to some of today's most pressing development challenges," added Mr. Oxhorn.
"Businesses are increasingly faced with responsibilities to develop CSR programs and initiatives and this new training course will describe best practices and provide both a legal and practical understanding of this evolving field. We are pleased to take a leadership role with ISID" said Kevin O'Callaghan, Vancouver-based Partner and co-chair of Fasken Martineau's Corporate Social Responsibility Group.
"Fasken Martineau is proud to be associated with McGill's Institute for the Study of International Development in the preparation and delivery of this innovative CSR training program," said Anne Drost, Montreal-based Partner and co-chair of the Corporate Social Responsibility Law Group.
