In President Cyril Ramaphosa’s address to the nation on 13 May 2020, he confirmed that government was in the process of consultation with relevant stakeholders on a proposal that by the end of May, most of the country be placed on alert level 3.
Some parts of the country with the highest rates of infection may remain on level 4 however, and will likely still be bound by the alert level 4 regulations.
