Leonard Gold serves as Strategic Advisor for the firm’s U.S. Initiative. He is recognized as a cross-border “corporate cupid”, connecting a vast array of U.S. and Canadian enterprises, and has been at the forefront of building a corridor of business between the two nations.
Leonard serves as an advisor to Canadian businesses regarding navigation of their U.S. expansion. He also assists companies and investors from the U.S. in tapping into the Canadian market.
Having worked for both Canadian and U.S. law firms, Leonard has extensive practical and legal experience in the cross-border arena. Leonard has served as Managing Director of a U.S. firm’s Montreal- based Canadian office, as well as chairing the firm’s Canadian practice. Leonard provided cross-border assistance to Canadian companies seeking to develop operations in the United States, and to U.S. companies desiring to establish a presence in Canada. He has lectured to Canadian entrepreneurs on doing business in the U.S. including financial sourcing and corporate formation.
Leonard has represented Life Sciences and Technology companies through all stages from incorporation to public listing. He has also lectured and moderated panels focusing on raising capital for emerging companies.
He served for 3 years as President of the New England Canada Business Council, as well as chair of the Canadian Committee of the International Section of the American Bar Association.
