Mahdi Hussein maintains a broad and diverse commercial litigation and class action defence practice. He has represented clients in the Superior Court of Justice and the Court of Appeal.
Prior to joining Fasken, Mahdi practiced at a leading regional firm in Toronto where he defended a wide-range of institutional clients, including, insurers, financial institutions, pharmaceutical companies, emerging technology companies, distributors of consumer goods, and engineering and architectural firms. As part of his practice, he regularly represents clients in contested motions, dispositive hearings, and in out-of-court settlement conferences. Through sound and strategic judgment, Mahdi’s ultimate aim is to achieve the optimal resolution for his clients, whether this is best achieved in the courtroom or through rigorous negotiations.
Mahdi received his law degree from Osgoode Hall Law School in 2016. He obtained his undergraduate degree from the University of Toronto in 2013.
Outside of the firm, Mahdi provides pro-bono legal services to several non-profit organizations and regularly represents individuals on a pro-bono basis in court proceedings and in tribunal hearings.
