Overview

Marc Pothier is counsel in the Corporate/Commercial group at the Montréal office. He practises mainly in securities, corporate finance and mining law.

Marc has been involved in numerous exchange listings, private placements, arrangements, reorganizations and qualifying transactions conducted by a large number of issuers in the mining sector. He specializes in drafting sale and purchase, joint venture and royalty agreements pertaining to mining properties.

His practice at the firm includes mentoring young members of the Mining Law Group.

Marc has been a member of the Barreau du Québec since 1989 and obtained a Bachelor of Laws from Université de Montréal in 1988 as well as a certificate in mining law from Osgoode Hall Law School in 2012.

He is consistently ranked as a leading lawyer in the area of mining and natural resources law. He has been included in the Best Lawyers in Canada Directory since 2008 and in the Canadian Legal Lexpert Directory since 2012. In 2015, Best Lawyers named him “Lawyer of the Year” for natural resources law in Montreal.
