Marie recently completed her second year of law school at the University of Victoria. During her legal studies, Marie was an academic tutor for first year law students and worked at The Law Centre, a pro-bono legal clinic in Victoria, where she assisted and represented clients who cannot afford a lawyer.
Prior to law school, Marie worked for two non-profit organizations in Vancouver, one which specializes in digital policy and the other in public policy. While working for the digital policy non-profit organization, Marie participated in multiple proceedings at the Canadian Radio-television and Telecommunications Commission (CRTC). Marie also testified before the parliamentary committee reviewing the Copyright Act in Ottawa in 2018.
Marie completed her undergraduate degree at Simon Fraser University (SFU) and obtained a Bachelor of Science, majoring in Environmental Science. During her undergraduate studies, Marie volunteered at an Andean Condor conservation project in Ecuador and at the Vancouver Aquarium.
In her spare time Marie enjoys skiing, biking, scuba diving and other outdoor activities.
