Mark is Counsel in Calgary’s Banking & Finance and Real Estate groups. He has significant experience with respect to secured financing transactions, especially with respect to real property secured financing, which includes construction financing, term financing and CMHC financing for both fee simple, leasehold and subleasehold estates. As part of Mark’s banking and financial services practice, he regularly advises banks, credit unions and other financial institutions, as well as borrowers, on a broad range of matters.
In addition to his banking and finance practice, Mark also practices in the area of real estate, and regularly acts for developers, asset management entities, purchasers, vendors, landlords, tenants, and brokers with respect to development, purchases, sales, leasing and other real property related transactions. He has gained significant experience as it relates to large-scale mixed-use development projects and has advised on a broad range of complex development matters in connection to the incorporation and operation of strata lot subdivisions.
In both practice areas, Mark is known for his practical and solutions-oriented approach to getting transactions completed.
Mark also has experience in litigation, and has successfully appeared before all levels of Court in Alberta.
Prior to joining Fasken, Mark worked at another Canadian law firm in Calgary.
