Montana Licari is an associate in the firm’s Insolvency and Restructuring group.
Montana advises private and public companies on a range of bankruptcy and insolvency proceedings related to restructuring, receivership, assertion of contractual claims, exercising of creditors’ rights and debt recovery under the Bankruptcy and Insolvency Act and the Companies' Creditors Arrangement Act. She also maintains a broad litigation and dispute resolution practice.
Montana graduated cum laude from the University of Ottawa, Faculty of Law where she was on the Dean's Honour List. During her time in law school, Montana served as a member of the Steering Committee for the University of Ottawa Community Legal Clinic and was an Assistant Editor of the Ottawa Law Review. Prior to law school, she completed an Honours Bachelor of Social Sciences (Criminology), where she graduated cum laude. She also worked at an Ottawa law firm, reviewing disclosure, researching legal issues, and assisting in trial preparation. She was actively involved in the community through her volunteer work as a student-athlete tutor, and with Innocence Ottawa, The Royal Ottawa Leaders for Mental Health Breakfast, the Motionball Marathon of Sport and the Ottawa Law Classic, a non-profit charity hockey game in support of Do it for Daron.
