“The President of the Québec Bar Association, Bernard Synnott, also insisted to add that many women apply to become judges. ‘I know for a fact that there are dozens of recommended women lawyers, all excellent candidates, that are in the pool from which the Minister [Peter MacKay] must choose’, he declared on Friday, during a telephone interview. ‘His remarks are therefore inaccurate, at least with regard to Québec.’”
