Toronto (Canada) - Fasken Martineau, a leading business law and litigation firm, is proud to announce that over 70 of its Toronto office members participated in the Ice Bucket Challenge, last Wednesday, to support ALS Canada. Fasken Martineau and its members raised over $12,000 for the cause during the event.
''As a firm, we have been challenged to participate in the ALS Ice Bucket Challenge and we are proud to say that we successfully raised $12,520 in donations in support of ALS Canada with more than 70 participants," said Martin Denyes, Managing Partner of the Ontario Region. ''ALS is a disease that has taken and continues to impact the lives of colleagues, friends and family of Fasken Martineau.''
ALS (also known as Lou Gehrig's Disease) is a progressive neuromuscular disease in which nerve cells die and leave voluntary muscles paralyzed. Approximately one thousand Canadians die of the disease each year.
