Johannesburg (South Africa) - Fasken Martineau, a leading international business law and litigation firm, is pleased to announce that it has been recognized for the highest number of pro bono hours carried out by a "law firm with over 50 professionals" at the Pro Bono Awards recently held in Johannesburg.
This is an impressive achievement, as Fasken Martineau was singled out over several other shortlisted international legal firms that have a much larger footprint in Johannesburg.
"We are honoured to be recognized by ProBono.Org for our contribution of quality pro bono legal services. Our firm is committed to ensuring access to justice in South Africa as a means of empowering people and restoring their dignity," said Blaize Vance, Fasken Martineau's Managing Partner for the Johannesburg Office.
This is the first year that ProBono.Org has held the Pro Bono Awards Ceremony, which is an opportunity for the legal profession to celebrate their dedication and commitment to pro bono work, and pay public tribute to attorneys and others who have contributed their time and provided outstanding pro bono work in 2013.
Fasken Martineau's Pro Bono team in Johannesburg is led by Sushila Dhever (nominated as full-time Pro Bono lawyer of the year), and includes Ludwig Frahm-Arp (nominated as part-time Pro Bono lawyer of the year), as well as the many lawyers who contribute their time and effort to the firm's meaningful pro bono work.
