Radio show Phare Ouest from Radio-Canada interviews Québec City lawyer Jean-Raphaël Champagne in a report on the legal aspects of the new medical marijuana regulation.
As of today, Canadians who are authorized to use cannabis for medical purposes can themselves grow a limited quantity of cannabis for their own medical needs.
This new option is in addition to the already existing option to buy medical marijuana from producers authorized by Health Canada.
According to the federal agency, the new regulation will enable a more consistent offer of, and more accessible prices for, medical marijuana. This legislative measure should also resolve the issue of reasonable access raised by the Federal Court.
Lawyer Jean-Raphaël Champagne, a regulatory law specialist, will discuss the details of the legal aspects underlying the new regulation.
