B.C. is addressing its criminal legal system woes though it has not yet embraced performance standards or metrics, Vancouver lawyer Geoffrey Cowper says.
On the fourth anniversary of his critical prescriptive report, A Criminal Justice System for the 21st century, Cowper said a sea-change has occurred.
“In the past four years there has been real progress in reducing back logs, implementing modern systems and working together to find innovative solutions,” the partner at Fasken Martineau DuMoulin LLP told Postmedia News.
