Lexpert celebrates Alix Herber’s impact on women in the legal profession

Toronto (Canada)Fasken Martineau is pleased to announce that Alix Herber has been honoured by Lexpert at the 2017 Zenith Awards ceremony held yesterday evening in Toronto. This year’s theme celebrated the advancement of women in law and highlighted the impact of award winners in the legal community across Canada.

Ms. Herber has long been an influential force for women in the legal profession. An enthusiastic and dedicated mentor, she serves as Chair of the Ontario Women’s Network (OWN), a Fasken Martineau initiative. In this role, she advances OWN’s mandate to mentor female lawyers and ensure their retention, while providing business development and networking opportunities. With Ms. Herber at its helm since 2013, OWN has become a dynamic platform for women to achieve both personal and professional growth.

Ms. Herber is a Toronto-based Partner in the Firm’s Labour, Employment & Human Rights group. Her practice focuses on advising and representing employers in labour, employment, and human rights matters. She offers practical advice to employers on a wide array of issues including, union and non-union, performance and discipline management, employee terminations, wrongful dismissal litigation, employment standards, and human rights.

Ms. Herber is also actively involved in Fasken Martineau’s Student Committee, and has volunteered for agencies such as the Human Rights Watch Toronto Network and Jessie’s Centre for Teenagers.
