“Protection des données : les entreprises devront en faire davantage” by Denis Lalonde, Les Affaires

Les Affaires quotes Montréal Lawyer, Antoine Guilmain, in an article on the Privacy and Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act.

The Privacy and Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA) will soon be stricter for federal businesses, warns Antoine Guilmain, a lawyer with Fasken Martineau DuMoulin. They should prepare for the adoption of the regulations currently being studied by the Government of Canada.

“This means that federal businesses that are victims of a security breach which may pose a “real risk of significant harm” have a duty to disclose to consumers, but also to regulatory bodies” explains Mtre Guilmain.
