Finance et Investissement quotes Montreal lawyer, Gilles Leclerc, in an article about his being hired at Fasken.
The Fasken law firm rightly reports that it has recruited “an eminent authority” to the position of Senior Counsel, Securities Knowledge Leader.
Until January, Gilles Leclerc was the Superintendent of Securities Markets for the Autorité des marchés financiers (AMF). He held the position for more than five years. He was also a member of the AMF’s executive committee.
“My role at Fasken will allow me to continue to contribute to the regulatory development of securities in Québec and Canada, an activity close to my heart, while putting my expertise and experience both as a practitioner and regulator at the service of the firm,” Gilles Leclerc says on his LinkedIn page. He adds that he will be involved in issues relating to capital markets, mergers and acquisitions, investment funds, governance and securities litigation.
