“Isolement des voyageurs de retour au Québec” by Émilie Bilodeau, La Presse Plus

La Presse Plus quotes Montréal lawyer Jean-François Cloutier in an article about travellers self-isolating on their return to Quebec.

Because the World Health Organization (WHO) has asked governments to take “robust” measures to combat the pandemic, Jean-François Cloutier, a lawyer at Fasken who specializes in labour law, was not surprised by the government’s decision to ask travellers returning from abroad to self-isolate for 14 days.

He said that workers who will have to stay off work should be entitled to benefits under their group insurance plan.

“A number of insurance companies have expanded the definition of disability to include not only people who have contracted COVID-19 but also people who are exhibiting symptoms and people who are under a quarantine order,” he explained.
