Toronto (Canada) – Fasken Partner, Jennifer McAleer, has been selected as the 2021 recipient of the Catzman Award for Professionalism and Civility. The Catzman Award was created in 2008 by the Catzman Family together with The Advocates' Society and the Chief Justice of Ontario's Advisory Committee on Professionalism. This Award is given annually to someone who demonstrates the qualities exemplified by Justice Marvin A. Catzman, including exemplary knowledge of the law; integrity, fairness and civility; generosity of time and expertise, with a commitment to mentorship and legal education; and dedication to the highest ideals of the legal profession. The Award will be presented by the Chief Justice at the Opening of the Courts in September 2021 and acknowledged at The Advocates' Society end-of-term Dinner in June 2022.
Jennifer practices from the Firm’s Toronto office and is a part of the Litigation and Dispute Resolution and Health groups. She is a skilled advocate with a broad civil litigation and administrative law practice. The scope of her practice includes professional regulation, commercial and pension litigation, health law and energy law. She was recognized for her experience in Health Care Law by Best Lawyers in Canada in 2020 and 2021, she was named an Acritas Stars Lawyer in 2019, and was recognized as one of the “Canadian Litigation Lawyers to Watch” by the Lexpert Guide to the Leading US/Canada Cross-Border Litigation Lawyers in 2011.
