Guy Giorno has been appointed Integrity Commissioner for the Regional Municipality of Durham.

Toronto (Canada) – Fasken Martineau, a leading international business law and litigation firm, is pleased to announce that partner Guy Giorno has been appointed Integrity Commissioner for the Regional Municipality of Durham, effective January 1.

The Integrity Commissioner is a part-time position responsible for investigating and reporting on complaints under the Code of Conduct for members of the regional council. The Regional Municipality of Durham is located immediately east of the City of Toronto and is the fifth largest by population among Ontario's upper-tier and single-tier municipalities.

A bill currently before Ontario's Legislative Assembly would, if passed, require every‎ municipality to appoint an integrity commissioner and expand the role of the position.
