Toronto (Canada) – Fasken Martineau is pleased to announce that Alix Herber has been honoured by Lexpert at the 2017 Zenith Awards ceremony held yesterday evening in Toronto. This year’s theme celebrated the advancement of women in law and highlighted the impact of award winners in the legal community across Canada.
Ms. Herber has long been an influential force for women in the legal profession. An enthusiastic and dedicated mentor, she serves as Chair of the Ontario Women’s Network (OWN), a Fasken Martineau initiative. In this role, she advances OWN’s mandate to mentor female lawyers and ensure their retention, while providing business development and networking opportunities. With Ms. Herber at its helm since 2013, OWN has become a dynamic platform for women to achieve both personal and professional growth.
“The success of OWN is a credit to Alix’s energetic leadership,” said Martin Denyes, Fasken Martineau’s Regional Managing Partner, Ontario Region. “Fasken is committed to providing an inclusive and supportive environment for women, both within the Firm and within the client base we serve.”
“Alix continues to reshape the legal landscape for women,” echoes Claire Vachon, Leader of Fasken Martineau’s Labour, Employment & Human Rights group. “She provides a refreshing and lasting example of what positive mentorship can achieve inside and outside the Firm.”
Ms. Herber is a Toronto-based Partner in the Firm’s Labour, Employment & Human Rights group. Her practice focuses on advising and representing employers in labour, employment, and human rights matters. She offers practical advice to employers on a wide array of issues including, union and non-union, performance and discipline management, employee terminations, wrongful dismissal litigation, employment standards, and human rights.
