Toronto (Canada) - Fasken Martineau, a leading international business law and litigation firm, has won “Mining Deal of the Year” and “ Cross-Border Restructuring Deal of the Year” (up to $100MM) at the 10th Annual M&A Advisor Turnaround Awards last night in Palm Beach, Florida.
The awards recognize the exceptional work done by Fasken Martineau on Whitebox’s purchase of Veris Gold assets. Fasken Martineau represented Whitebox throughout the transaction, facilitating the acquisition of Veris Gold’s operating and real estate assets, most notably a gold and milling project in Nevada. Having already won M&A Advisors’s “Real Estate Deal of the Year Award” in November, the deal has once again been highlighted as a significant transaction.
The team from Fasken Martineau is composed of lead counsel Stuart Brotman, Chair of the firm’s Insolvency and Restructuring practice group, Kibben Jackson, partner in the Litigation and Dispute Resolution practice group, John Torrey, partner in the Banking and Financing practice group and Aaron Atkinson, partner in the mergers and acquisitions, corporate governance and corporate finance practice groups.
Since 2002, the M&A Advisor Awards have recognized the achievement of the world’s leading mergers and acquisitions, financing and turnaround professionals.
