Oliver graduated from Thompson Rivers University as the Law Society of British Columbia Gold Medalist. During his legal studies, he held positions as both a Research Assistant and Teaching Assistant for several faculty members, including the Dean of Law. He also represented Thompson Rivers University at the Hockey Arbitration Competition of Canada for two consecutive years, and spent a semester assisting low-income clients at the community legal clinic. He rounded off his education as an Editor of the faculty’s legal journal. After graduation, Oliver clerked for two justices of the Court of Appeal for British Columbia.
Prior to law school, Oliver completed a Bachelor of Arts (Hon.) at Queen’s University and a Master of Social Work at the University of British Columbia (Okanagan). As part of his graduate studies, Oliver facilitated domestic violence workshops across elementary schools in Kelowna and supported youth entangled in the criminal justice system.
In his spare time, Oliver enjoys golfing and following the Houston Astros. He returns to Fasken as an articling student.
