Rand A. Lomas is the Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of L. V. Lomas Limited, one of Canada's largest specialty chemical distributors. L. V. Lomas Limited operates laboratories and warehousing and distribution facilities in Brampton, Ontario; Montréal, Québec; Vancouver British Columbia and throughout the United States. Rand is also Counsel to the firm.
Rand has practiced law with the firm since 1977 and remains a partner. He has advised on corporate governance, public offerings of securities, mergers, acquisitions, takeovers, private placements and other general corporate matters.
Rand has also served and continues to serve as an officer, director and trustee of a number of Canadian public and private corporations and a publicly-traded biotechnology investment venture fund. He has been a trustee and the Chairman of the Audit Committee of The Health Care and Biotechnology Venture Fund and has acted as a director of many corporations including: Bally Corporation, Labrador Holdings Limited, L. V. Lomas Limited, MDS Associés Neuroscience Inc., MDS Protana Inc. and Metallic Ventures Gold Inc. He also holds the ICD.D designation from the Institute of Corporate Directors.
