Robert Marks is an associate in Fasken's Emerging Technology group. He advises start-up and growth-stage companies on various matters relating to formation, corporate governance, capitalization, venture capital financings and exit strategies. Robert also regularly acts for venture capital firms and angel investors on a variety of transactional matters.
Robert holds a dual JD/MBA from the University of Toronto's Faculty of Law and Rotman School of Management. At Rotman, he graduated on the Dean's List and earned the Bregman Scholar designation (graduating in the top 10% of his class). Prior to his JD/MBA, Robert completed a Bachelor of Commerce at Queen's University, where he graduated with First Class Honours and earned Dean's List with Distinction.
During his MBA, Robert worked extensively in Rotman's Creative Destruction Lab, advising start-ups on business strategy and venture capital matters.
In his free time, Robert enjoys running, meditating, playing the guitar, walking his golden retriever, and playing hockey, tennis and golf.
