Ryan completed his LLB at University College London (UCL), where he graduated with First Class Honours. Prior to his legal studies, Ryan completed his BA at McGill University, where he double majored in Philosophy and International Development Studies. During his time at McGill, Ryan also spent time on exchange at Sciences Po in Paris. Since high school and throughout his academic career Ryan has debated competitively, having also served as a debating coach and judge. Ryan also has a strong foundation in public speaking and mooting. During his legal studies Ryan volunteered at the Free Representation Unit and completed a fellowship with the UCL Center for Access to Justice, appearing before tribunals and assisting under-privileged clients with social welfare matters. Following graduation from law school, Ryan worked for the UK Government Legal Department as part of the Employment Litigation team, where he assisted on a wide range of employment litigation matters. Upon returning to Canada, Ryan completed equivalency exams in Canadian law and wrote the Ontario Bar. He also worked for a large consumer goods company where he managed the UK market and eventually helped build and manage a department of international digital strategists.  Ryan summered with the Ottawa office in 2020 and looks forward to building a broad commercial law practice, with a focus on complex commercial litigation and arbitration. In his spare time, Ryan enjoys weightlifting, reading philosophy, writing, dancing, and travelling.
