Shannon is a B.C.L/LL.B graduate from McGill University, and joined Fasken in 2018. She has held distinguished research positions at McGill Law, and is Co-Founder and Executive Director of Healthy Legal Minds | Ju(ri)stes en santé. Prior to law, Shannon completed her Honours B.A. at University of Toronto, and worked in international affairs and communications consulting.

Shannon is a member of the Metis-Inuit community of NunatuKavut, in Labrador. She has served as Research Associate at the Law, Governance and Society Lab at McGill Faculty of Law, where she is co-authoring an article on Inuit climate rights (publication forthcoming). Shannon also held the Randall J. Barker Research Assistantship in International Law and Social Justice from 2016 to 2017.

Shannon is Co-Founder and Director of Healthy Legal Minds | Ju(ri)stes en santé, which advocates for and proposes evidence-based solutions to address the causes of poor mental health and wellbeing in the legal profession.

Shannon’s professional practice is informed by a former career in international affairs, business development, and communications consulting in Toronto, Montreal, Newfoundland and Labrador. Shannon is an avid scuba diver, stage actor and athlete.
