Shannon is a B.C.L/LL.B graduate from McGill University, and joined Fasken in 2018. She has held distinguished research positions at McGill Law, and is Co-Founder of Healthy Legal Minds | Ju(ri)stes en santé. Prior to law, Shannon completed her Honours B.A. at University of Toronto.
Shannon is a member of the Southern Inuit community of NunatuKavut, in Labrador. She has served as Research Associate at the Law, Governance and Society Lab at McGill, where her research focused on Indigenous legal economy and Inuit climate rights. She co-authored “Realizing the Right to Be Cold? Framing Processes and Outcomes Associated with the Inuit Petition on Human Rights and Global Warming,” published in the Law and Society Review in January 2020.
Shannon’s professional practice is informed by a former career in international affairs, business development, and communications consulting in Toronto, Montreal, Newfoundland and Labrador. Shannon is an avid scuba diver, stage actor and athlete.
