On August 10, 2006, Platmin Limited completed an initial public offering of common shares and a dual listing on the Toronto Stock Exchange and the AIM market in London. On August 25, Platmin announced the closing of the sale of additional common shares pursuant to the exercise of an over-allotment option granted to the underwriters, RBC Capital Markets and Haywood Securities Inc. The sale of these additional common shares brings the gross proceeds raised in the initial public offering to approximately $52.3 million. Platmin is engaged in the exploration for and development of platinum group metal deposits in the Bushveld Region of South Africa. The net proceeds will be used to advance its four key PGM projects in that region. The underwriters were represented by Fasken Martineau with a team that included from its Johannesburg office Al Gourley (global mining) and Dimitri Cavvadas (corporate); from London, Mark Camilleri (corporate); from Montreal, Peter Villani; and from Toronto, Richard Steinberg and Robert Eberschlag (securities). US legal advice was provided by Martin Fisher-Haydis, also of the Toronto office.
