On April 20, 2007, sxr Uranium One Inc. reported that it had completed the acquisition of all of the issued and outstanding common shares of UrAsia Energy Ltd. Each common share of UrAsia was exchanged for 0.45 of a common share of Uranium One. The acquisition has created a new, globally diversified uranium producer with a combined fully diluted market capitalization of approximately US$5 billion. The combined company will continue under the name of Uranium One Inc. It is one of the world's largest uranium companies ranked by market capitalization and the only company in the uranium sector with production and asset exposure to each of the world's five largest resource jurisdictions, namely Kazakhstan, South Africa, Australia, the United States and Canada. Uranium One's legal counsel in this transaction was Fasken Martineau with a team comprised of John Turner, Richard Steinberg, Greg Ho Yuen, Georges Dubé, Bozidar Crnatovic, Huy Do, Aaron Atkinson, Amanda Field, Mark Magro, William Bies and Mitchell Thaw (tax), and student-at-law Christine Gallo from Toronto and Lata Casciano and Blair Horn from Vancouver.
