Anglo American Capital launches US$2 billion Canadian commercial paper program

On June 11, 2007, Anglo American Capital plc ("Anglo Capital") launched its Canadian commercial paper program for the issuance of up to US$2.0 billion of commercial paper. The commercial paper is unconditionally guaranteed by its parent company, Anglo American plc ("Anglo American"). The dealers for the commercial paper program are Bank of Montreal, RBC Dominion Securities Inc. and Scotia Capital Inc. DBRS Limited (formerly Dominion Bond Rating Services Limited) assigned an R-1 (middle) rating to the commercial paper. Net proceeds from the program will be used primarily to fund the global United States dollar and Canadian dollar requirements of Anglo American and its subsidiaries and affiliates.
