Harris Interactive acquires Decima Research for US$21.3 million

On August 16, 2007, Harris Interactive® announced that it had acquired Decima Research Inc., a leading Canadian privately-held research firm. Harris Interactive paid US$21.3 million in cash up front for the firm, plus future consideration tied to growth and profitability. The newly combined entity will be now known as Harris/Decima and join the Harris Interactive North America group. A complete transition to the Harris Interactive global brand will take place within the next year. Harris Interactive was advised in this transaction by a team from Fasken Martineau that included Janice Javier and Kevin Clinton (corporate), Douglas New (Investment Canada), Angela Di Padova (competition) and Ronald Nobrega (tax). They were assisted by paralegal, Gina Croce.
