On February 5, 2009, Woodstock City Council agreed to buy back an approximately 40-hectare parcel of land in its CommerceWay Business Park from ArcelorMittal Dofasco for $5.5 million. The purchase comes at a loss of $600,000 for the city given that the company bought the land in 2005 for $4.9 million. Sean Stevens and Paul King of Fasken Martineau advised ArcelorMittal Dofasco in this transaction.
