Haivision Network Video

On July 21, 2011, Haivision Network Video announced that it had acquired both KulaByte Corporation of San Marcos, Texas, and MontiVision Imaging Technologies based in Germany.

Haivision delivers advanced technology for streaming, recording, managing, and distributing secure IP video and interactive media within the enterprise, education, medical/healthcare, and federal/military markets. Haivision is a private company based in Montreal and Chicago with a global sales and support organization distributing its products through value-added resellers, system integrators, distributors, and OEMs worldwide.

KulaByte, founded in 2004, has an extensive customer list across many market segments, including over-the-top (OTT) broadcast, HD Internet TV, live church streaming, education, corporate event broadcasting, live sporting event streaming, and military and defense applications. MontiVision Imaging Technologies, founded in 2003 and a partner in the development of Kulabyte products, is an advanced development company focused on delivering technologies for video acquisition, machine vision, surveillance, and medical imaging applications.

The technologies of both KulaByte and MontiVision, including advanced encoding, transcoding, cloud computing, and workflow solutions, were combined by Haivision to form a new Internet Media Division.

Fasken Martineau acted as Canadian legal counsel to Haivision Network Video with a team that included Claude Jodoin, Michel Boislard, Jean Michel Lapierre and Jimmy Triassi.
