Homburg Invest and HII obtain CCAA protection

On September 9, 2011 Homburg Invest Inc. and its related entities (HII) obtained CCAA protection which was recently extended until August 31, 2012. The CCAA protection is intended to enable HII to develop a restructuring plan to benefit stakeholders, creditors and bondholders. Fasken Martineau represents Canmarc REIT, a major secured and unsecured creditor of HII. HII owns and develops commercial real estate including office, retail, industrial and development properties throughout Canada, Europe and the United States. Canmarc REIT is represented by a team from Fasken Martineau that includes Alain Riendeau, Edmond Lamek and Luc Morin.
