On March 12, 2014, WSP Global announced the acquisition of Focus Group Holding for $366 million and a bought deal offering of $180 million in common shares as well as a private placement of $80 million in common shares. The total amount ultimately raised under the bought deal offering was $207 million after giving effect to the over-allotment option, and the total amount raised under the private placement was $92 million. Fasken Martineau advised the syndicate of underwriters that were financing the acquisition under the bought deal offering, which syndicate was co-led by CIBC World Markets and Raymond James and also included BMO Nesbitt Burns, National Bank Financial, HSBC Securities (Canada), RBC Dominion Securities, TD Securities, Desjardins Securities, Dundee Securities, Scotia Capital, Canaccord Genuity and Laurentian Bank Securities.
