Taleesha Thorogood works in the area of Government Relations and Strategy. She works with clients across industries to provide strategic advice and guidance in implementing government relations tactics that will support businesses impacted by public policy decisions made by federal, provincial, and municipal governments. Taleesha also helps clients navigate and understand the political and legislative process to meet their intended outcomes and goals.
With expertise from both the private and public sector, Taleesha has close to four years of experience working in federal politics, where she worked for three Members of Parliament, before completing her time in Ottawa in the Office of the Leader of the Official Opposition. During her time on Parliament Hill, she worked with stakeholders across multiple industries and brings a distinct understanding of a broad range of policy issues. In 2017, she moved to Alberta for an employment opportunity in the oil and gas sector, where she worked to improve the Canadian public’s perception of the industry.
Taleesha has also worked and volunteered on many provincial and federal campaigns. Most recently, she worked on the 2019 Alberta provincial and the federal election campaigns where she served on a parties' central campaign tours; providing effective advance team staffing for the leader’s public engagements across the province and country. She also serves as the President of the Public Affairs Association of Canada's Alberta Chapter.
