Overview

Sam recently completed his third year of JD/MBA at the University of British Columbia. During his studies, he received Ghent Davis Memorial Scholarship in Law for his outstanding academic performances.

Before embarking on his current pursuit of a joint degree in law and MBA from the University of British Columbia, Sam completed a dual bachelor’s degree in microbiology & immunology and piano studies, also from UBC. His dedication to his studies has been recognized through his placement on the UBC Dean's List and the multiple scholarships he has received across his diverse academic pursuits.

During his In-House Counsel Internship at a fast-growing Vancouver tech company in the summer of 2022, he took the initiative to improve the company's legal and sales collaboration processes. As a research assistant at law school for Dr. Carol Liao, Sam supported Dr. Liao in her research on corporate law and sustainable corporate governance. In his volunteer work as a clinician for the Law Students' Legal Advice Program, Sam offered free legal advice to underprivileged clients in employment law and will management.

Outside of school and work, Sam enjoys spending time with friends playing video games, exploring his creativity through jazz improvisation on the piano, and staying active on the soccer field.
