Yufei Luo is an Associate and a member of the firm’s Asia Pacific Practice Group. She is a Chinese qualified lawyer. Her legal background and experience with transpacific matters is instrumental in fast-moving transactions.
Yufei practices in the areas of mergers and acquisitions, private equity and general corporate law, with a focus on Canada-China related commercial transactions. She has been primarily involved in investment and acquisitions by Chinese state-owned and private companies across a variety of industries and sectors.
Before joining Fasken, Yufei was a corporate lawyer at one of the most prestigious law firms in China, where she provided counsel for high profile Chinese domestic and North American companies and advised on Chinese foreign investment laws, commercial lending, corporate law and employment matters.
Yufei has studied in Beijing, Guangzhou, Kuala Lumpur, and Toronto. She obtained master of law degrees from both Canada and China. She is admitted to practice law in China and is also a candidate of the Bar of Ontario (2017-2018). She is admitted to practice law in China and was called to the Bar of Ontario in 2018.

Her advice is often sought in trade disputes, contract negotiation, joint ventures, and technology collaboration matters where review of Chinese regulatory and judicial regime is required.
Yufei regularly travels to China to meet clients. She supports local Canada-China business communities. Recently, she participated in an investment mission with representatives of 10 major Canadian cities and the “Invest in Canada Bureau” to promote Chinese investment opportunities in Canada. She spoke and wrote on topics of investing in Canada and the proposed Canada-China Free Trade Agreement.
