Overview

Denis Paquin’s practice covers primarily the sale, acquisition, development and leasing of commercial properties.  Vendors, buyers, promoters, landlords and tenants rely on his legal expertise and commercial experience in relation to issues involved in the purchase/sale, development, leasing and operation of commercial properties throughout Canada.

 

Denis has built a solid reputation as a negotiator and lawyer who understands the client’s business.  Recognized by his peers as a leading lawyer in real estate law, more specifically commercial leasing, he has leading-edge expertise in the area of retail commerce, having served eight years as in-house real estate counsel for large national retailers.  He often handles files involving prominent or prestigious properties.

He drafts, analyzes, and negotiates all kinds of documents and instruments likely to be signed in the real estate area such as letters of intent, offers to purchase or lease, deeds of sale, leases, assignment of lease or sub-lease agreements, and other related contracts or agreements. Given his experience, he is regularly asked to prepare or update standard documents.

Denis has a lengthy and diversified experience and quickly grasps the issues and opportunities offered by a commercial property.  This adds value to his services, from both a legal and business perspective.  He finds solutions to problems faced by different real estate stakeholders based on his knowledge of the industry and the market.
