On May 4, 2016, Foresters Life Insurance Company acquired all of the outstanding shares of Aegon Capital Management Inc. (ACM), an investment advisor, and Aegon Fund Management Inc. (AFM), an investment fund manager which offers and administers the imaxx family of mutual funds. As of closing, ACM changed its name to Foresters Asset Management Inc. and AFM became Foresters Financial Investment Management Company of Canada Inc. Through this transaction, Foresters acquired approximately CAD$10 billion in Canadian fixed income and equity assets under management.
