Toronto labour lawyer Christian Paquette practices labour, employment and human rights law, as well as commercial litigation. He practices in English and French, assisting clients in various industries.

Christian has acquired significant experience in the fields on educational law, administrative law and language rights over the years.

Since being admitted to the Ontario bar in 2007, Christian has assisted clients dealing with human right applications, wrongful dismissal claims and contractual disputes in addition to providing advice on various employment issues, including employment standards, workplace investigations, workplace policies, attendance and disability management, fiduciary obligations and post-employment obligations, as well as privacy issues.

Christian has experience in mediation and arbitration, both in the context of civil lawsuits and labour disputes. He has appeared before arbitrators, the Ontario Superior Court of Justice, the Ontario Divisional Court, the Ontario Labour Relations Board, the Ontario Human Rights Tribunal, and has collaborated on files brought before the Ontario Court of Appeal, and the Supreme Court of Canada. Christian has also delivered conferences and seminars in French and English on various topics at both local and national conferences, as well as workshops in workplaces.

Before joining Fasken Martineau in 2014, Christian practiced at another prominent Canadian law firm in Toronto. Before practicing law, he taught theatre in a private school in Ottawa and contributed to various volunteer organizations to promote Francophone culture in Ontario and conflict resolution skills for youths across Canada. Christian is past-president of the Club canadien de Toronto, a forum for the Francophone and Francophile business community of Toronto, and held the positions of vice-president and president of the Official languages committee of the Ontario Bar Association. He regularly volunteers time to various French organizations in the Greater Toronto Area. He was the Honorary President of the Sixth Annual Cuvée de vins et fromages for the Franco-Ontarian Foundation, a fundraiser held in April 2012.
