Akash Verma is a JD/BCL candidate at McGill University, Faculty of Law.
Prior to law school, Akash was a member of Fasken's General Counsel's Office, where he managed the review of Outside Counsel Guidelines and similar client due diligence documents. He also previously held a certification as an Anti-Money Laundering Specialist (CAMS) from the Association of Certified Anti-Money Laundering Specialists.
Additionally, Akash holds a Bachelor of Arts in Honours Legal Studies and Business from the University of Waterloo, graduating with distinction.
At McGill, Akash is actively involved in the McGill Law Negotiation Club, where he was awarded "Most Valuable Negotiator" and served as a 1L Representative. He was also nominated as a finalist for the Honourable Madam Justice Carol Cohen, BCL 1982, Prize for Best Facta, which recognizes law students who demonstrate excellence in legal writing.
In his spare time, Akash enjoys playing guitar, filmmaking, and travelling.
