Samantha Mitchell is currently a JD candidate at the University of Victoria, Faculty of Law.
During her 1L year, she volunteered with Restorative Justice BC, co-authoring a memorandum on the application of Gladue Principles. She was also awarded second place in the 2024 Dentons LLP Negotiation Competition. Samantha spent her 1L summer working at the Public Prosecution Service of Canada in Whitehorse, Yukon.
Before law school, Samantha completed a Bachelor of Science in Biology at the University of Victoria. Her interdisciplinary background includes published research on ADHD subtypes and experience in technical marketing at a biotechnology company.
Samantha has had academic experiences around the world, including high school in Thailand and a semester in Denmark. This upcoming fall, she will be spending an exchange term at the National University of Singapore.
Outside of law, Samantha is an avid runner, having completed several races, including a half and full marathon. On the weekends, she can be found exploring the outdoors, whether she’s on skis or in hiking boots.
