Overview

Whether a start-up or an established global e-commerce business, companies seeking to transact in Canada with consumers will be caught, in some form, by consumer protection law. Notably, companies need to carefully consider Canada’s multi-jurisdictional consumer protection regime whether they are located in Canada or supply their products to consumers in Canada.

In this session, we will examine trends in critical consumer protection legal issues and risks that e-commerce companies have been facing when conducting business in Canada and confronting a regulatory regime that varies across the country.
