Overview

Luc Béliveau practises in the areas of restructuring and banking law. Luc was a member of the firm's Partnership Board from 2013 to 2020 and Chairman of the Board from 2015 to 2020.

Luc regularly represents debtors, borrowers, lenders, investors, creditors, receivers, monitors and trustees. He defends the interests of clients in restructurings, liquidations, recapitalizations, realizations of security interests, and asset recoveries.   

Luc sits on the boards of several private corporations and also served on the Superior Court Liaison Committee, for both the Civil and Commercial Divisions.   • Raymond Chabot successfully sells the assets of Atis Group as a going concern,
  • The Supreme Court renders an important decision with respect to “pre-post compensation” and “non-dischargeable debts” under the Companies’ Creditors Arrangement Act (the “CCAA”),
  • Game, Set, and Matcha: DAVIDsTEA successfully completes its restructuring under the Companies’ Creditors Arrangement Act (CCAA),
  • Ernst & Young acts as monitor of Cirque du Soleil as part of its restructuring under the Companies' Creditors Arrangement Act (CCAA),
  • Raymond Chabot inc. announces the successful asset purchase of Aliments Alasko inc. by Groupe Commensal,
  • Air Canada completes acquisition of Aimia’s Aeroplan loyalty business,
  • FNX-INNOV acquires the SM Group for C$40 million,
  • Air Canada, TD, Visa and CIBC reach agreement in principle to acquire Aimia’s Aeroplan Loyalty Business in a transaction valued at US$2.35 billion,
