Alara Once recently graduated from Queen’s University, Faculty of Law.
Prior to law school, she completed a double major at McGill University in Psychology and Political Science. After the completion of her undergraduate degree, Alara spent two summers studying at Sciences Po in Paris. At Queen’s, Alara held various leadership roles, including peer mentor, Senior Editor for the Queen’s Law Journal, Representative of the Alumni Committee and Coordinator of the Women & Law Mentorship Program. She participated in the John H. Jackson Moot Court Competition, winning the Best Factum Award. During her time in law school, she also worked as a Research Assistant with a focus on international law. In the summer of 2023, she completed the International Business Law Stream of the International Law Program at Bader College in England. Through this experience, Alara has developed an interest in transactional law and mergers and acquisitions. She is trilingual and speaks Turkish and French. In her spare time, Alara enjoys playing volleyball, skiing, visiting art galleries and spending time with friends and family.
Alara summered with Fasken, during which she participated in the Firm’s Secondment Program and was seconded to Manulife Investment Management.
