Overview

Amélya Garcia joined the Fasken team in the summer of 2018, after completing her second year of law school at the Université de Montréal.

An aficionado of literature, Amélya participated in literary competitions during her studies.  She was a member of the 2015 Quebec delegation to Paris as part of the Prix Goncourt des lycéens and sat as a jury member for the Prix littéraire des collégiens in 2016.

In her third year of university, Amélya competed in the Guy-Guérin Cup, a provincial trial advocacy competition, where she won the award for the best examination. She then represented the Université de Montréal at the Sopinka Cup, a national trial advocacy competition.

During her academic career, Amélya was recognized by being on the Dean's Honour List of the Faculty of Law of the Université de Montréal.

While at university, Amélya held a management position in the food services industry for six years. This experience helped her hone skills that have served her well throughout her academic and professional career.

In addition to the law and literature, Amélya loves the cinema and soccer. She played high-level competitive soccer for eight years.
