Overview

Amélya Garcia is a lawyer with the Labour, Employment and Human Rights Group in Montréal. As part of her practice, Amélya advises and represents clients in various aspects of employment law, both in collective and individual labour relations, and particularly in cases involving grievance arbitration, interpretation of collective agreements, labour relations, labour standards and contract drafting.

Amélya graduated from the Faculty of Law of the Université de Montréal where she was recognized by being on the Dean’s Honour List. She also competed in the Guy-Guérin Cup, a provincial trial advocacy competition, where she won the award for the best examination. Amélya then represented the Université de Montréal at the Sopinka Cup, a national trial advocacy competition.

In addition to law, Amélya has a passion for literature. She was a member of the 2015 Quebec delegation to Paris as part of the Prix Goncourt des lycéens and sat as a jury member for the Prix littéraire des collégiens in 2016.
