Christopher is a senior associate at Fasken and a member of the firm’s Procurement, International Trade & Investment Law, and National Security & Defence Groups.
In his procurement and government contracts practice, Christopher assists public and private sector clients with all aspects of procurement and tendering. He has particular experience with the Contract Security Program, the Controlled Goods Program, procurement design, as well as procurement disputes before the Canadian International Trade Tribunal.
Christopher’s international trade practice entails the provision of guidance on customs law (including tariffs/surtaxes, classification, valuation, and remission); the application of Free Trade Agreements; sanctions (including compliance programs and permits); export controls; anti-bribery and corruption laws; and forced labour in supply chains. He also has experience in anti-dumping and countervailing duty proceedings. Christopher is a Certified Customs Specialist (CCS) and a Certified Trade Compliance Specialist (CTCS).
Christopher has been recognized as a “Leading Associate” by Legal 500. He advises clients of all sizes and at all stages—from start-ups to ‘blue chip’ companies— across all industries and has extensive experience working with companies in the defence sector on government contracting and complex trade issues.
Christopher obtained his Juris Doctorate and Bachelor of Civil Law degrees from McGill University. Prior to his legal career, Christopher earned a Ph.D. from the University of Toronto and taught at leading universities in Canada and abroad.
