Darrell Chayer-Montiel joined Fasken’s Montréal office as a student in May 2025.
He holds an Honours Bachelor’s degree in international relations and international law and is currently completing his Bachelor of Laws at the Université du Québec à Montréal.
A seasoned traveller driven by wide-ranging curiosity, Darrell studied abroad twice, first in Germany and then in South Korea, which broadened his understanding of geopolitical dynamics around the world.
On campus he has distinguishes himself through strong involvement, participating in numerous speech and negotiation simulations in international settings, including two delegations to the National Model United Nations. He has also served as Vice‑President of both the Business Law and Civil Law student committees.
Passionate about gastronomy, Darrell spent many years in the restaurant industry. After passing the Institut de tourisme et d’hôtellerie du Québec (ITHQ) examinations, he worked as a server in a fine‑dining establishment before joining Fasken. He has also gained experience in a family‑law firm.
Inspired by his travels, he enjoys trying out new recipes and building connections with people from diverse backgrounds. Dedicated to community service, he supports local food-security initiatives and international humanitarian projects. Whether at the office or in class, he keeps his focus sharp by staying active in sports.
