Overview

Edward Lynde’s practice focuses exclusively on construction and infrastructure law. Edward is a passionate advocate who provides practical, creative, and candid advice to achieve and implement timely, advantageous and cost effective results for clients in relation to front end procurement and contract drafting mandates as well as back end disputes.

Edward has advised and acted on behalf of all types of construction related entities, including owners, contractors, subcontractors, suppliers and consultants. He provides legal advice and services on a wide variety of construction projects at all stages, from tender and procurement to contract negotiation, review and drafting to project advisement concurrent to the execution of the work as well as disputes during and after completion, including litigation, mediation, adjudication, and arbitration. Types of disputes include construction lien, trust, contract, negligence, and delay claims.

Edward has appeared before all levels of Court in the Province of Ontario, including the Superior Court of Justice, Divisional Court, and the Court of Appeal.

Edward has advised clients on project structure and delivery models and has prepared contract documents for a wide variety of construction projects, including bespoke contracts, customization of standard form documents, procurement documents, and public-private partnerships.

Edward is recognized as a leading lawyer in construction law by various global ranking agencies and directories, including Chambers and Partners, Lexpert, Who’s Who Legal and Lexology Index

Edward is also designated as a Qualified Arbitrator (Q. Arb) with the ADR Institute of Canada and a Fellow with the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators (FCIArb).

In his spare time, Edward enjoys playing and watching sports, travelling, and spending time with his family.
